What We Believe

Who We Are

We are a community brought together in our curiosity and desire to know Jesus Christ. We encounter the world and all its complexities with integrity, authenticity, and a healthy dose of humor. Coming together amidst our diverse views is a great witness to our faith in Christ to the world.

We encourage people to question and grow in their faith. We support each other in taking action in the world, even when it involves risk, and we love and celebrate when forgiveness is sought and when life brings new beginnings.

Why We Exist

We cannot be Christians in isolation. The intrinsic nature of Christ’s teaching is all about our lives as part of and in relationship to a community.

Being in community forces us to understand and confront complex issues of compassion, justice, morality, behavior, faith, and love together.

Community is a fundamental part of being Christian, and, without a commitment to it we are not being faithful to God’s claim on us as created children of God.

What We Believe

We believe in a creative God, who formed us in our mothers’ wombs and claims us by name.
We believe in Christ who forgives us, over and over again.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, despite our lack of understanding, as we marvel at its presence among us and work in the world.

We believe in diversity of thinking. Rather than a fixed set of rules, we rely upon Christ and each other to guide our accountability to each other, to our community, to Christ, and to the world.

We are a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), a Christian denomination that celebrates marriage as a union between any two people.

giving

We infuse worship into all areas of our lives. One of the ways we worship is by honoring God with our resources. Giving is gratitude to a God that has provided for us.

Thank you for helping bring the word of God’s loving hospitality to the city of San Francisco!

GIVE NOW

All donations are tax-deductible.
