Worship at MBCC is an event not to miss...
Sunday Celebrations and Beyond
Our Sunday worship gatherings are central to the life of Mission Bay Community Church. These are the times we experience the larger MBCC community beyond small groups and our everyday lives. Most importantly, these are the times when we take a break from our hectic days and focus on the transformation of our lives and world for the better. Through moving music, practical messages and energizing fellowship we grow as a community both in body and spirit.
Each Sunday at 11:00 AM, the MBCC community gathers for worship, our outward expression of our inward and complex relationship with God. We hope to hold services that meet a range of needs and hopes for those who attend--from those exploring faith for the first time to those who are looking to continue to grow on their journey of faith. Absent of negative "churchiness" our services aim to value the multiple ways people interact and received information including but not limited to:
- Moving and relevant music: jazzy, urban, alternative, rock
- Engaging and compelling messages: biblica, relevant, grounded
- Energetic and open fellowship: conversations, prayers, interaction
- Diverse modes of presentation: movement, movies, drama, arts
- A casual yet spiritual and intimate setting: coffee, couches, café, candles
Communion at MBCC
Communion/Lord’s Supper/Eucharist is held at least once a month at Mission Bay Community Church, generally the first Sunday of the month. This tradition is a celebration and remembrance that challenges us to do two things: one, remember that hope has been given to humanity in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; and two, to remember that the body of Christ is larger than our own personal relationships but joins all of God's children together. Everyone--children and adults--is welcome to the table, no matter where one is on the walk and search for God.
Children at Worship
Children are a welcome and integral part of the life of Mission Bay Community Church. When it comes to worship, we invite all children to hang out with their parents/guardians and come forward as they feel comfortable for a brief Children's Time, after which they are encouraged, but not required to go to Church School. We understand that each child interacts in different ways and at different paces, so our overall intent is to provide a positive experience for the children who experience MBCC.
Childcare provided for toddlers through 5th Grade @ all Sunday events. For information on our children's program, please contact Hilary at .
