Would you like to speak to middle school students about your career?
MBCC participant Kristin Tatum works at AACE Talent Search, a nonprofit that offers tutoring, informational presentations, and educational field trips to encourage low-income students to attend college. We are organizing Career Days at four local middle schools and looking for people who are interested in introducing 11- through 13- year olds to different professions and helping students connect their studies to possible future careers. There will be a Career Day at Roosevelt Middle School in the Richmond District on February 20, Fernando Rivera School in Daly City on March 6th, Francisco Middle School in North Beach on March 12, and Denman Middle School in the Excelsior on March 19 . Each Career Day is from about 9 to 11 am and each speaker would speak to two classes of students for about 20 minutes each. If you are interested in speaking at one of these events or have any questions, please contact Kristin Tatum at (Speakers are more than welcome to speak at more than one event, but certainly not expected to do so.) Thank you!
