The Walk to Save Lives: SF AIDS WALK 2006
Continuing a long standing tradition, the Presbyterian team, organized by Mission Bay Community Church, participated in AIDS Walk San Francisco on July 16, 2006. We joined 25,000 other walkers at Golden Gate Park that day to help raise funds for over 40 Bay Area AIDS service orgnizations. After the walk, our team held a BBQ at our team table. We wish to thank our team members from MBCC, St. John's Presbyterian Church (SF), Ocean Avenue Presbyterian Church, Old First Presbyterian Church, Montclair Presbyterian Church, Community Presbyterian Church Pittsburg, and Calvary Presbyterian Church (SF). Together, our Presbyterian team raised $1,614 of the over $3.7 million total.
The team would like to thank the many sponsors who made pledges to support the walkers, and made this fundraising event a success! We also wish to thank the team members who helped watch our team table (and start up the BBQ) while the rest of the team walked the 10 km. Everyone had fun throughout the day, as there was entertainment (and snacks!) throughout the 10 km route and at the finish line. There was even a special area for children called KidsZone, featuring face painting, balloons, bounce houses, clowns, and free carousel rides.
Want to be in these pictures at next year's AIDS Walk and join the fun, while fundraising for an important cause? Be sure to sign up in Spring 2007 for the next AIDS Walk San Francisco! We're already starting to make plans for next year's team!
