A bit about MBCC
“We tried several churches in San Francisco and kept coming back to MBCC because the sermons resonated with our urban experience. Bruce has a talent of making the Christian message relevant to our modern lives. His sermons challenge us to take action while reminding us of God's grace and unconditional love. And where else can you show up in shorts, park your bike inside, and drink coffee during the service?”

In this section you will find out a little about the MBCC community...
- Coffee: We never undervalue the power of a good cup of coffee, fair-trade, of course. The symbolic nature of coffee at MBCC shows that we embrace the culture in which we live--we want to provide hospitality to those who are in our midst, and coffee can always break down the urban walls of strangerhood!
- Comedy: Jesus was friggin’ funny. A camel through the eye of a needle--come on, that is just funny! MBCC is a community that laughs together and appreciates the ironic nature of God. While most of us are probably not as witty or funny as we think we are, we all understand that laughter often reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously and to always remain open to the powerful and surprising nature of God.
- Christ: We are firmly centered on Jesus. Christ is our common ground and, from there on out, the joyous struggle of living in community begins. While it may make some uncomfortable that we do not have a litany of dos and don’ts of the faith, we understand that authentic and healthy discourse around issues of faith and life is one of God’s greatest gifts to us and one that we must engage in with all our heart, mind, and soul.
